Dr Lindsay McClelland MRCGP, MBBS,DRCOG ![]()

Dr Octavia Stevens MBChB 2002 , DRCOG 2004, MRCGP 2007, GMC NUMBER 6054371 Dr Octavia Stevens qualified at the University of Manchester in 2002. Before joining Ainsdale Village Surgery she worked as a GP partner in a large training practice in Preston. Dr Stevens joined Dr McClelland as an equal GP partner in April 2015. She is the medicines management lead and is the Ainsdale and Birkdale locality chair person for Southport and Formby CCG. Dr Stevens is married with 3 children and she lives locally.

Training PracticeWe are accredited as a training practice. We have qualified Doctors on placements who are gaining experience within a GP surgery. They are closely supervised by Dr Stevens and Dr McClelland |
Nurses
Our nurses provide a wide range of services and can be seen for chronic disease management, asthma and spirometry, smoking cessation,weight management, injections,immunisations and travel health, cervical smears, contraception checks, NHS health checks, well person screening and general advice about health problems. The nurses care for all age groups.
Mrs Lorraine Mitchell Practice Nurse Prescriber Mrs Lorraine Mitchell leads our team of practice nurses. She is a Practice Nurse Prescriber. She specialises in chronic disease management and oversees the nursing clinical protocols. She is the infection control lead for the surgery. |
Mrs Sam Wordsworth Practice Nurse Practice Nurse Sam deals with a wide range of health promotion and clinical matters. She is happy to see patients regarding their Long Term Conditions and holds regular Child Health Clinics. |
Healthcare Assistant
Mrs Amanda Stubbs
Mandy assists the Practice Nurses in treatment room work. She can carry out blood tests, BP checks, long term condition reviews and ECG examinations.
Phlebotomists
Mrs Jenny Mahon Jenny carries out three clinics a week. |

We have a team of 6 fully trained personnel who are here to arrange appointments, deal with your enquiries and support the doctors. Information given to the receptionists is treated in absolute confidence so help them to help you. |

Alzheimer's Support WorkerWe now offer support for patients who have a diagnosis of dementia and for their carers. These sessions are held once a month. DietitianYour GP or practice nurse can refer you to the Community Dietitian. Health VisitorsOur Health visitors who are based at Ainsdale Centre for health and well being are trained nurses who provide information and guidance on healthcare problems and health education. They are routinely involved with the under 5’s and their families. Health Visitor Tel :01704 387141 District NursesThe district nurses, visit patients in their own homes who are too ill to come to the surgery. They carry out nursing care following referral from the doctor District Nurse Tel :01704 387240 MidwifeA team of midwives hold an ante-natal clinic at the surgery every Friday afternoon.
